Chief Operations Officer

Jennifer Johnston

Jennifer is a software engineer and technical co-founder with a track record of building scalable, production-grade digital products from the ground up. As COO of Illure Design, she leads technical strategy and platform architecture for Alkemy Market — a federated e-commerce marketplace built for independent creators and artisan sellers.

Her background spans full-stack development, infrastructure, and systems architecture. Before Illure, she was the sole frontend owner of Communikit at AIVIA, an emergency communication platform for more than 200 Indigenous communities and municipalities — where she architected CI/CD, led a 1,300-file migration, and shipped the systems that took the product to production scale. She specializes in 3D web and immersive experiences (WebGL, React Three Fiber). A self-taught developer, she brings the same rigor and ownership to every layer of the stack.

Chief Product Officer

Emily MacKenzie

Based in Edmonton and a mother of two, Emily brings 18 years of UX design and digital product management, with a focus on online retail. She has worked with national retailers and first-time solo founders alike, and cares about smart growth for every kind of business.

She is as comfortable with marketing and design as she is with software — and outside of work she trains in martial arts, speed-solves Rubik's cubes, and paints in watercolour.

Chief Revenue Officer

Devin Miller

Devin has spent more than a decade in sales across personal health and safety, manufacturing, and transportation. He focuses on strong customer relationships and client experiences that create long-term value. Based in Edmonton, he spends time with his son, explores the river valley, and unwinds with card games and tabletop RPGs.

Chief Technical Officer

Justine Matsalla

Justine is a Calgary-based full-stack engineer with 20 years of experience building thoughtful, high-performing web applications. She specializes in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js, with a particular interest in e-commerce where solid technology meets real human experience.

When she is not shipping code, she is with her cat Brogan, cooking, catching live music, or out with a camera.
